Cut Copy is an Electropop band from Melbourne, Australia, consisting of Dan Whitford, Tim Hoey and Mitchell Scott. The trio's sound lends heavily from 80s New Wave and Post Punk genres, yet you can't call it Retro.
Managed by Punkdafunk, and signed to Modular Recordings, Cut Copy made their way to the dance scene quickly. They've toured with Daft Punk and Franz Ferdinand in Australia.
Together with a band called Midnight Juggernauts, Cut Copy helped Melbourne become a major music city in Ozz. Add The Presets (from Sydney) to the list and Australia seems home to some very promising crossover acts today. What's the secret here?
