DashGo allows artists, labels, and content owners to distribute, promote, and market content across digital stores, social sites, and tastemaker blogs and track the results. The guy behind it all - Ben Patterson - talked with us about his next-generation record label adventure.
Comparing your plans for DashGo with what TuneCore is doing right now, what is the main difference?
"DashGo’s solution seeks to enhance distribution with promotional data and discovery - and offer content owners true content syndication and analytic tools. The DashGo application allows content owners and artists to track consumption of their content, total friends, total fans and profile views across multiple social networks – including MySpace, Last.fm, YouTube, Bebo, iLike, Facebook and Imeem.
"This allows artists, labels and us to identify successful promotions as well as the general social network landscape for each artist. Measuring the impact of social networking allows us to offer better sales and distribution services, better licensing and marketing and advertising efforts. As the database grows, we will be able to benchmark performance and project sales and growth trends for content owners, and allow advertisers and partners to enhance partnerships by identifying where the fans of each artist live online."
