100% REAL: ISIS VAN DER WEL

Isis van der Wel (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) has performed all over the globe as deejay 100% Isis. She also is an event organizer, creates music and runs a booking agency. Besides this, Isis is involved with various committees with goals ranging from promoting the organ music of Bach to improving the situation of young kids in prison.

Seems like a busy person to us! Would she ever have time to cook a meal? If so, it wouldn't be a steak anymore - Isis has become a vegetarian this summer. She confessed to go for a beautiful salad with Okinawa oil (vegetarian omega oil) dressing and oven plate containing melted scarmoza (smoked mozzarella). Quite yummie!

Isis' DJ career started in 1992 in Amsterdam and it didn't take long before she performed at clubs such the famous Roxy. Before she was 20 she travelled the world playing all the hot clubs around. Recently she concluded a short tour celebrating the 15th year of that career, of course, in Amsterdam.

We wonder what she has in mind for the years to come.

With dance music today having a completely different sound compared to the time you started, inescapably your DJ style has changed over the years. Yet the vibe you create is always enchanting. Somewhere deep down things are still pure and untouched. How do manage to do that? Is music your magic stick?

"It’s not just Music that inspires me to do what I’m doing. Although it’s the main form of my inspiration and outcome of my artistic behaviour, both nature and love are driving forces of my spirit."
