SIMPLE CARNIVAL - REALLY REALLY WEIRD REMIX CONTEST

Jammy here's some Psychedelica for you to remix. Think the Beach Boys collaborating with Harry Nilsson on Sesame Street, or Burt Bacharach writing songs for Electric Light Orchestra.

The Simple Carnival is an orchestral pop recording project created by a guy named Jeff Boller. Packed with soaring melodies and colorful instrumentation, The Simple Carnival aims to provide perky, darkly humorous, and mildly trippy songs you'll be humming throughout the day.

The Simple Carnival does not rock. "There are a million musicians who play rock music better than I can, so I don't bother trying," says Boller.

To get an idea about Simple Carnival's sound imagine the Beach Boys and Harry Nilsson collaborating on Sesame Street. Or Burt Bacharach writing songs for Electric Light Orchestra. Or Billy Joel partying with Esquivel. Heck, just go to the Simple Carnival website and listen for yourself! While The Simple Carnival's recordings often sound like a live band with orchestral embellishments, in reality Boller plays all thirty or so instruments himself, layering their sounds one at a time in his basement studio.

Jeff will have an album out later this year called "Girls Aliens Food". To celebrate you can remix one of Simple Carnivals tracks. The raw multitracks for "Really Really Weird" are now online. Deadline is November 30.
