CitySense: Live Nightlife Activity
The next generation of CitySense will use tribes to show you a map with the concentration of people like you as well as the other personality types in the city. Welcome Cyborg Rockers :)
CITYSENSE: LIVE NIGHTLIFE ACTIVITY Sun, October 12, 2008

Today, several companies have systems that predict the best route you should follow from A to B to avoid traffic and minimize travel time. But these systems don't tell you which places are cool and which ones are not. CitySense does! On your cellphone :)

Sense Networks use the GPS data that people create from their cell phones to build systems that learn from group behavior to predict the best route you should follow for the evening to maximize your fun time. Sense Networks are now building systems that measure where people are and cluster (or group) them by their movement history into different tribes or personalities. That way, you can find a restaurant, bar or even an art gallery where people are present (or absent if you like the quiet) and get a general idea of what kind of crowd is there. Maybe you enjoy going to a cafe with a lot of artistic people are and listen to more alternative music? With CitySense (and the next release in particular), you can find a cafe that might have the right crowd in real-time instead of just looking up a static phone book listing of coffee shops.

Intrigued? Tony Jebara, Chief Scientist & Co-Founder of Sense Networks told us interesting details.
